HEROIC HUMILITY
It takes great integrity to be who we are.
It takes great humility to be the great work of art
God creates in each of us, child of God, work or art, masterpiece.
In the midst of the ambiguity of daily life,
in our circumstance and insecurity,
God draws forth in us the mystic, monk, and saint,
making us the heroes God wants us to be.
What the world needs now is not another Saint. Teresa, Tom Merton,
John, or Frances of Assisi.
What the world needs now is saint Pat, saint Steve, saint Linda,
being just who God created us to be, no more, no less.
It takes great integrity to be who we are. It’s heroic humility to be
the great work of art God creates in each of us, child of God, work of art, masterpiece.
