Jacque Darragh is a singer-songwriter and retreat director based in Houston, Texas. Jacque has served as music and liturgy director for a number of local parishes and churches since 1980.
She has been writing music and leading reteats since 1987 when she was asked by the Cursillo retreat community to lead her first retreat for their leaders school. Today she is active in leading retreats for Houston area churches, women's groups, and retreat centers. In her retreats seekers are guided through experiences of silence, contemplation, praying the hours, Lectio Divina, and faith sharing. Many of her retreat themes come from her songs. Drawing heavily on Psalms and the Gospels, she also draws from literature and poetry and the writings of the great saints as input to songs and retreats.
Jacque graduated from the Spiritual Direction Institute at the Houston Cenacle Retreat House in 1996. Her spiritual direction practice supports men and women in deepening their prayer life and walk with God. Spiritual directors act as companions and sacred mirrors of God's Presence. Spiritual Direction is not about solving problems but about discerning the movement and grace of God in one's life.
